oh, ikea!

everyone loves ikea, if you say you don't...i won't believe you.  granted, no one wants their house to look too "ikea", but everyone like affordable things;  and if you live near one you avoid it like the plague during weekends. oh, and swedish meatballs, i can't go there without eating some.  check out some of their new looks from the Toronto 2011 Interior Design Show described as "sexy new black modern county door style"...

sneak a peek....mariana and bobby's save the dates

a little behind the scenes of the printing process for mariana and bobby's save the dates.
i designed a crest for each of them that combines some of their favorite things...jezebel the pup counts for both of them :) i printed them on the a vandercook sp-15 at the arm in brooklyn. it was challenging since it was my first 3 color print...but super worth it and i learned alot...excited to do the invites and any other details for the wedding!  (forgive the grainy i-phone photos-better ones to come later, plus it makes it more behind the scene-like) oh and i definitely couldn't have done this without Andy's help!

7 deadly sins

i've noticed a lot of things pertaining to the 7 deadly sins lately..it all started with a tosh.0 episode (watch the whole clip, then you'll get the reference) which is a weird place to start this post i suppose...but here's the other references i've stumbled across lately

wired magazine did a spread based on the research done by kansas state plotting per-capita stats of the 7 deadly sins (lust = std's; envy = theft; etc).  check out the maps, i found gluttony to be the most interesting...

"a light that shines only on to itself"
i tried looking up the rest of the sins that were commissioned as part of the vienna design week, but i haven't been able to track any others down...let me know if you have better luck, i'd love to see how the others were interpreted!
